Sydney – Class of 2013

A few weeks back I met up with Sydney for a fun-filled Senior session. We laughed…A LOT! I loved every minute of it:)

We decided to meet at a fun antique shop. We picked it for all the crazy, but fun, stuff they have outside…think giant pink elephants, green space ships, big bicycles, giant ice cream cone…lots of fun texture and backgrounds for a high-school senior!

The Whitten Family

I’ve got another great family for the blog today! Meet the Whitten’s…

Jen contacted me and told me she wanted to make sure to get their family photos updated this year…teenagers change so fast & she wanted to make sure we got them before they got any bigger…I couldn’t agree more Jen! That photo on the right there…LOVE that!

I also always like to get a shot of just the parents when I do family sessions.  Usually after the engagement photos and the wedding, couples don’t get photographed together without their family. And while I think family photos are SUPER important to help document every stage in life, I also think it’s equally important to get photos taken with just your significant other…what a special gift it will be to your kids years and years down the road when they have growing families of their own!

I really am loving this next photo in B&W…pretty soon the kids will be grown, off to college, and not hanging out together as much anymore.  Love documenting this part of life!

I’ll end the blog post with a few of my favorites from this session!

Jen & Tim, Thanks for letting me spend a little time with your family capturing how much fun you have together.  I had a blast (despite the cold snap!).  Hope you love your photos like I do!

Natalie + Brett : Engaged

I’ve got an incredibly cute & sweet couple for the blog today! Meet Natalie and Brett!

We met up a few weeks back to take engagement photos to celebrate their wedding coming up in May!

This might just be one of my most favorite sessions to date! It was the perfect combination of an incredibly fun-loving couple…great light & amazing locations. I’ve lived and been taking photos all around Highland for several years now and never managed to find these spots! It was fun to use something new!

I just love photographing couples who are so obviously completely in love.  It makes my job WAY fun and easy!! Especially when they are as good looking as these two! Before we started Natalie told me that she doesn’t have a serious face…which of course I took as a challenge :)  And I must say that I win! This next photo is proof that she can rock a totally serious face!! Although laughing and smiling is her default setting! Natalie…you are GORGEOUS. I can’t wait to photograph you in a wedding dress!!!

We did a quick change of outfits and then moved on to this Ahhhhmazing blue wall! It was perfect with Natalie’s outfit! Can you believe that this spot was only about 10 steps from the grassy field!

Then the light got all sorts of dreamy. I love love LOVE these next few …. if I had to pick a favorite, it’d be one of the next 3!

Shooting into the sun can be difficult but it’s so fun! I love that these next two were taken just a few seconds apart…just a few adjustments of the camera and we get a totally different feel!

Natalie & Brett…I had so much fun! Thanks for being so totally in love & up for anything no matter how silly it seems! I can’t wait until your big day!

The Zobrist Family

Meet the Zobrist Family! This is the 4th time I’ve photographed the family…and each time I get more excited! They are so sweet & their little boy is SO cute & was all smiles during our session! We started with some fun family photos!

This next one is definitely my favorite!!  You can see how much love is in this family.  How amazing will it be for Trent to look back on this image in 20, 30 or 50 years.

Then we moved on to the firehouse for some fun photos for Trent’s first birthday!

Ahhhhh…the cute-ness!!!

Jess found this great old pedal-car…and it’s safe to say that Trent was LOVING it!

15 years from now I bet he’ll be making that same face behind the wheel of a real car!

We finished the session with a cake smash in honor of Trent’s 1st Birthday!

To the Zobrist family, Thanks for letting me spend a little time with you. I hope you love the photos as much as I do! I think we managed to freeze time for a minute & capture the love in your family.  And a BIG Happy Birthday to Trent! I hope every birthday to come is at least as much fun as this one!!
